Oh my god I forgot to post for the past four weeks. Here's where I've been.
Week 1: Started! Original draft was made Week 2: Trying a few different softwares, eventually settled on Twine Week 3: Editing the script Week 4-7: What is happening I'm so lost. Honestly this week (and the next few) are a complete blur Week 8: Tried to find a better software and accidentally gave myself 70 viruses Week 9: Actually started a planner (habitica.com) that's helped me a lot both with this project and school itself Week 10: Re-wrote the entire script + started my slideshow Week 11: Finished the game, pretty much Week 12 (this week): Hopefully figuring out how to make + use an index.html file

Guys please help. My entire thing is broken. lol
I was supposed to post a LOT more than I have. Sorry. Good news, though! I've made a pretty decent amount of progress on this demo. I still don't know how to connect multiple values to one choice but I'm working on it. Please comment here if you have ANY experience with Twine.
On a completely different note, I was thinking about where the story will go next, and I realized that I don't even have a summary written out. I'll post that after I upload this one. Anyways, it's actually pretty fun to have this new experience. I'm contemplating taking Comp Sci next year (11th grade) because of it. I'm also thinking about possibly adding graphics if later on? Obviously not in the next 8 weeks but maybe if I decide to continue this project afterwards. By the way, if anyone reads this, should I lean more into a murder-mystery style story or an RPG? And we're off! I'm starting my first ever coding adventure!
An adventure, intended to be simple, which I can already tell will quickly get out of hand. I mean, coding can't be THAT hard, right? Wrong. I was very wrong. Twine, thankfully, is one of the simpler text-based programs, but still... |
